Parts of the Nervous System

THE BRAIN... controls most of the functions of your nervous system. The brain is responsible for everything you do and it is the hub of the nervous system. The brain controls the voluntary muscles, helps you reason, controls your memory and also controls balance, movement and coordination.

THE SPINAL CHORD...The brain and spinal cord are your body’s central nervous system. The brain is the command center for your body, and the spinal cord is the pathway for messages sent by the brain to the body and from the body to the brain.

THE NERVES...bring information into the brain from the senses. They sense damage to the body (pain) and control your voluntary and involuntary muscles with electricity.
